Wearable Sensors
The increasingly fast development of portable devices nowadays has been changing our lifestyle. Modern electronic devices offer the possibility of integrating different sensing technologies to perform measurement data logging and signal processing operations with a high degree of portability and autonomy. As a consequence, off-the-shelf wearable technology for activity tracking and monitoring is gaining popularity. The application of such systems in sports in general and in Mountain environment is demonstrating to be one of the fastest growing fields improving the safety of the users.
Gbox: data logger
We have developed a data logging device (Gbox) with a high degree of portability and limited mass.
- Action detection: climbing falls identification
- Triaxial MEMS accelerometer
- Barometric altimeter
- High portability
- Sampling rate up to 200Hz
- Performance monitoring: Running
